Orac says so himself

Hear firsthand how Orac handles e-invoicing for both purchase and sales invoices, and how it remains compliant as the company expands country by country to a total of 9 European countries.

01

The Challenge

As a market leader with global sales, Orac must ultimately issue compliant invoices in nine European countries: Belgium, France, Poland, Spain, the UK, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, and Romania. Each has its own regulatory framework. At the same time, both sales invoices (order-to-cash) and purchase invoices (AP process) are processed through SAP, which creates the risk of a patchwork of separate workflows per country and per invoice stream, with the associated administrative burden.

The key question for Orac: How can we find a single partner that covers both the sales and purchasing sides, directly from our existing SAP environment, and that can integrate country by country without us having to set up a new process each time?

02

The solution

Orac chose Nymus as its primary partner for the entire international invoicing process—covering both the invoices the company sends and the invoices it receives. From SAP, both flows are routed through Nymus, rolled out country by country in accordance with local legislation, without Orac having to find a new vendor or approach for each country.

On the receiving end, Nymus functions as a Peppol Access Point: incoming invoices arrive at Nymus via the Peppol network and are then automatically delivered to Medius, where Orac’s AP process (matching and processing) continues. As a result, Orac does not need to maintain a separate Peppol integration alongside Medius. Nymus serves as the bridge between the network and the AP system.

The integration with SAP went smoothly, and since compliance and keeping up with local legislation are not part of Orac’s core business, the finance team can leave that entirely to Nymus. Each new country is integrated into the same underlying workflow. The model scales accordingly, rather than having to start from scratch for each country.

The result

Belgium, Poland, and Romania are already using Nymus live today for both purchase and sales invoices, directly from SAP. The rollout to the remaining countries—France, Spain, the UK, Germany, Italy, and Slovakia—is in the works. All will follow the same model: one partner, one integration, customized for each country to comply with local e-invoicing regulations.

For Orac, this means that the international invoicing process no longer has to be reinvented for each country. Having a single partner for both invoice flows reduces the administrative burden per country and ensures a process that scales automatically as new countries are added.

"Compliance isn't our core business. By leaving that to Nymus, we can continue to focus on what we do best."
